The Traditional
Farm Tour
Our macadamia tour allows the visitor to see how macadamia is grown and produced. We start with the tree nursery and end with roasted nuts fresh out of the oven.
The tour will give visitors the opportunity to experience some of the customs and traditions of the Costa Rican rural culture..
The tour experience includes easy trails through a planting of coffee, a grove of assorted citrus trees, a natural bamboo forest, natural fresh water springs and a stand of sugar cane. Visitors will also see a collection of tropical fruits, orchids, and flowers.
Another highlight of the tour is a
visit to our typical (old-style) sugar cane processing
machine
(la trapiche) which is oxen driven.
The final stop on the tour is our small market where you can buy fresh macadamia and coffee along with a wide variety of artisan goods made by local craftsmen.
