BIRDING PARADISE IS MACADAMIA KASMONTAS FARM

Costa Rica has become a favorite destination for birdwatchers and general naturalists.

Costa Rica boasts more than 850 bird species (of which around 600 are permanent residents) and attracts birders from throughout the world, both those knowledgeable about neotropical species, as well as those who simply wish to observe exotic species in their natural habitat.

La Alegria is situated in an area ideal for both the serious and amateur birder.

A recent birding survey of our properties, over a five day period, produced a count of 105 species.  Whether you are a "trail tramping" birder following a distant song or prefer adding to your life list watching the activities at the natural bamboo feeders through the guesthouse window, you will not be disappointed with the beauty and abundance of the birds of in this area.
